Cozy Hemlock Sweater for Fall

I'm not sure what the weather is like where you are, but here in Canada we are having the cold snap to end all cold snaps.
Its brutal.
In response to this, I decided to sew up a quick Hemlock tee for fall with some sweater-knit I had laying around. I had purchased the fabric with the intention to sew an Oslo cardigan by Seamwork, but Colette patterns have a habit of drowning my small frame and I have a similar RTW cardigan in my collection. I'm happy that in the end I decided to go with the Hemlock, because its so cozy I will probably never ever take it off.
Notes: - This pattern is free! - It is also one size. If I had to guess, I'd describe it as a roomy medium. - I decided to leave the hem serged instead of folding it under and hemming it properly. I think it goes well with the relaxed look of the sweater. - Making this version, I added 2" to the sleeve length, and easily removed 4" from the bottom hem during construction. The sleeves could still use another inch or two added on, they're a little short right now. - This is quite a boxy sweater. While I love the boxy look on other people, I have to be so careful when wearing it myself. Sometimes it looks like I'm a little girl swimming in her mum's dresses... Not cute. I ended up taking in the side seams 1/2", and taking in the sleeves by 2-3". - Being a one size pattern, I spent a lot of time taking it off, taking it in, then trying it on again. In the end, I am really pleased with this look!
Another cool thing about this sweater
I see a lot of potential in this handy pattern. I want to make it again, maybe in a striped jersey. I have seen a few woven renditions, and they're pretty cute too. If I pick up more sweater-knit before spring rolls in (only 7 months away!) I might even lengthen the pattern into a dress!
